| I saw the GYN today.
Apparently, the dozens of women on the various PCOS/infertility boards I belong to who suffer from being overweight and have a near impossible time losing weight are really just too damn lazy to diet and that's why we're fat.
And this is after the GYN tells me that she's also an endocrinologist and works at Hadassah.
Well bully for you and the horse you rode in on.
For 15 years I lost and gained the same 20 pounds and it wasn't until I'd been on Metformin for about 6 months that I was actually able to lose weight and keep it off. I averaged a kilo and half a month and while it's not a huge amount, I kept it off.
I managed to continue losing weight and keeping it off throughout the pregnancy and until I was 6 months postpartum and it wasn't until the other symptoms of PCOS came back full force that the weight gain started again.
Yet according to this doctor, sudden weight gain and/or difficulty losing weight has nothing to do with PCOS.
Oh, and she wants me to fully wean NS before I start taking the Met again.
The only plus side is that she gave me the prescription (plus 2 refills) anyway.
And if you've read this far, I'll be starting my fertility filter again. Anyone want to be on it? |
