One of my symptoms of PCOS is the fact that the hair on my head falls out. I don't have bald spots, but until I got pregnant with NS, if my hair got to shoulder length, I would have hair in my hands every time I washed or brushed my hair.

SO I kept my hair short.

Except now it doesn't seem to be working. My hair is pretty short and it's falling out more than usual.

5 months post-partum with EN now - should I be having such bad hair loss?

I've been thinking of going back on the Metformin to start losing weight more consistently but since I also seem to be among the 20% of PCOS sufferers who have OVERsupply issues, I'm hesitant to take meds to control the PCOS at the expense of possibly having breast-feeding issues.

So.... I guess shave my head (ok, not totally shave it, but keep it pretty darn short) until EN self-weans then back on the Metformin...

Boob
Went to bed at 11.

Got comfy, started falling asleep and...

Yeah, EN woke up to nurse at 11:20.

So basically my dream feeding him before I go to sleep simply heads off the whole part where I get comfy and then have to get out of bed.

So I will go back to nursing him before I go to sleep.

The Boys
For the past week, EN has thankfully stopped his early evening cry-fest and has decided that 8, 9 p.m. is a good time to actually go to sleep.

What I've been doing is giving him a dream feed before I go to sleep (usually around 10:30, 11 p.m.) and then he wakes up to nurse on his own around 2 a.m. and around 5:30 a.m.

Depending on how quiet things are (meaning NS), EN will sleep until 8:30 some mornings.

Tonight he had a bit of a cranky time and he went to sleep about 8 p.m.

It's now 11 and I'm heading to bed. But I won't give him a dream feed. I want to see how long he'll sleep for.

If I find he wants to nurse at midnight (or significantly before 2 a.m.), we'll go back to the dream feeding. If not, then we'll stop this practice.

(A dream feed is when you nurse the baby while he's still asleep)

Instead of sitting here in pain because EN is still asleep and I haven't nursed him in almost 5 hours, I've started to pump and freeze the breast milk.

Boob
When TC, SR and NS were babies needing to be burped, I quickly came to realize that once they were burped, they were done eating... and it didn't matter how many ounces they drank or how long they nursed for... once they burped, they were finished.

EN is NOT like that. He belches and it's like 'hey! more room! where's that boob again?'
