The Boys
I seem to have recovered somewhat from yesterday's 'feelin' like the back end of a baboon with 'roids'...

NS has no concept of time beyond tired time, hungry time, play time so when 5:15 rolled around, he was ready for bed. And frankly I was so sick, I put him to bed.

About an hour later I had a sudden burst of energy so I managed to hang up the laundry (which was really important since it included the fabric sides of our Sukkah). I cleared the drainboard of dishes and that was as far as I got regarding the dirty dishes because my headache returned and blinking hurt.

NS slept almost 6 hours, I nursed him and he woke up at 2 and then at 4.

At 4:30 he was UP. So I got smart... Instead of spending the next 2 hours or so trying to get him back to sleep, I took him out, let him run around the living room, gave him his breakfast yogurt and some tea biscuits and then at 5:10, we both went back to sleep.

We slept until 8:20 which was perfect timing. I got him a PB&J sandwich prepared, a sippy cup of juice and off we went at 8:45 to the clinic for my OB appointment. While waiting for the OB to show up, he had some of his sandwich, all of his juice and after the appointment I went to the well-baby center (same building) and asked them to fax over yet another request to the clinic where we used to live since they still hadn't sent over NS's charts and well, he's due for a check-up and probably boosters in a month or so.

Then we walked to the supermarket where I bought more yogurt, chicken nuggets and fish sticks.

While I was there, my aunt called and said that since I'd given her enough advance warning, the kids and I will be able to come in on Thursday of Sukkot to see my grandmother.

Ok, my aunt is a complicated, somewhat high-maintenance, somewhat selfish person. She and her family have been in Israel for about 23 years and she's always cried about how she has no family here. In the 11 years I've been here, except for the really big events like weddings and such, she tends to forget we're here. So when she has her entire family over (5 married kids, 6th kid will be married in Dec., with over 20 grandkids) we tend to either not be included at all, or told so late, there's no way we can participate.

So last week I called her and told her that I have the girls for the first half of Sukkot. Wednesday I have to be in Petach Tikvah so we can't come and visit my grandmother who is in from the US and who I have yet to see. Now Wednesday would have been ideal because while for us living in Israel it's a mostly normal day, for all those not living in Israel, it's basically more or less like a Sabbath so I knew my grandmother would be at my aunt's doing nothing. But I have an ultrasound then and Thursday is the only day I can come with the girls since they go to their dad Friday afternoon.

So my aunt says she'll have to see what her kids have planned, she'll get back to me.

So she called today to tell me that since she got them early enough, they're going to do a big family thing Sunday, and that it's fine for us to come visiting on Thursday.

Yay.

Ok, I have laundry to do.
