In pure medieval tradition, I am reusing the fabric from 2 very wide skirts to make my loose gown.
It's black German velvet and I have oh... about 9 meters of meter wide fabric to play with (I technically have more, but the 9 meters are just from the skirts).
I'm thinking of doing something along the lines of
this or
this with detachable sleeves so the loose gown can be converted into a houppelande. I'd rather go with gathered or tight sleeves for this event as I am in charge or the food and don't want to drag my sleeves in the roast.
I just need to figure out the headdress...
