My landlord called a short while ago. She said the Housing Committee (she didn't specify who, just 'the Committee) has come up with a wonderful solution to our problem.

Apparently a couple on the settlement is getting a divorce tomorrow. She and the kids are moving out and he's going to be left alone in the house. So we should move all our stuff into his house and even live there until we can find something else.

Oh sure. This guy's life has been totally destroyed (the soon to be ex wife owned property in Gush Katif so when the whole hoopla was happening they were all living it. In addition, last year this poor guy was diagnosed with MS) but we should move in with him.

Not to mention we'd need to pay twice for movers.

What a bunch of freaking idiots.

So.. we're going to probably postpone the trip... I'm thinking the kids and I (and hopefully by the Zach) can go in over Chanukah vacation and maybe the baby and I can stay for 4 weeks. This year the first light of Chanukah is Dec. 21st so there's also a good chance Zach's sister will be visiting NY/CT anyway.

Needless to say I'm crushed, SR knows and she's crushed. My mom and MIL will be crushed.

And I'm canceling the handyman. My landlord is in such a damn hurry to get us out and the woman in charge if the housing committee is in such a damn hurry to get a new family moved in, they can all kiss my ass and deal with a broken window, a broken shade, leaky faucets and screens that need to be fixed.

Just got off the phone with the landlord.

I think I'm going to have to cancel our trip.
